Bremen Cotton Exchange
At the heart of Bremen on the market square, between the parliament building and chamber of commerce, is the Bremen Cotton Exchange, a large counting house built in 1902. It was designed by celebrated architect of the day Johann Poppe, who wanted to combine a grand facade in the Bremen renaissance style with a modern and functional interior. This impressive building is the registered office of the international association of the same name. The Bremen Cotton Exchange is a unique organisation which operates globally, representing companies engaged in the cotton industry.
